Bore Hole Sounding for Munitions Clearance

Bore Hole Sounding for Munitions Clearance

For suspected areas with very deep lying objects, in which surface sounding is not possible, due to buildings, contamination, pipelines, rail tracks and other interfering factors, bore holes are drilled for sounding.
Bore hole soundings are also used for the purpose of investigating suspected bomb finds and craters, that were detected by evaluating aerial photographs.

The bore hole is sunk using state of the art drilling rigs, chosen to suit the location and under strict observation of safety technology. The bore holes are supported by a-magnetic shaft systems (PVC, Aluminium).
Sounding rods are lowered to the bottom of each bore hole and as the rods are pulled up simultaneously and at a steady speed, data is acquired. This data is evaluated on the PC when the measurement procedure has been completed. The Magneto evaluation software is also used for this application.

Anomalies are recognised in the graphic presentation of the measurement curves, the position and estimated depth of these can be determined.
